Description of Sea Level Table

The University of Hawaii Sea Level Center (UHSLC) operated the "fast" delivery center and used its own station numbering system. The "delayed mode" centre at the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC) used the international numbering system of the IOC's Global Sea-level Observing System (GLOSS).

Column Headings

Station Name
The table is ordered alphabetically by station name within ocean
Gloss No. and Map
Bidston classifies their data using the international numbering system of the IOC's Global Sea-level Observing System (GLOSS). The entries in this column are the GLOSS station numbers. A location link will appear in this column if a detailed site map is available.
UHSLC No. and Map
Hawaii classifies their data using their own numbering system. The entries in this column are the UHSLC station numbers.
Location
The approximate latitude and longitude of the station in decimal degree minutes.
Duration of Data
The times for which gauges are known to have been in operation. The centers may provide earlier data, either electronically, or upon written request.
