Overview
Please note that the data and information presented in this collection have been reviewed using techniques and
standards consistent with good scientific and data management practices. It is, however, not possible
to guarantee that all errors have been detected and either corrected or flagged. It is the
responsibility of the user to review the data and information to determine its acceptability for
their application .
Data Files has the data where positions have been interpolated every 6 hours [see document 'Interpolation Scheme'] along with associated sea surface temperatures, and computed velocities. Information about the format is also available.
Inventories and products contains information for each buoy including its identifier, date, position, etc as well as some analyses based on the data..
Documents contains all of the documents of the SVP meetings held over the course of the program. In addition are documents describing the data flow and the techniques used to interpolate the data to every 6 hours.
Links provides a connection to websites which are partners in the SVP DAC or have other information about the WOCE programme or drifting buoys. With time, some of these links could change or cease to function.
The following changes and additions have been made since Version 2.
- There has been some reorganization of the data and information to simplify the directory structures.
- The information about buoys found in the Program Tables in the Inventories and products section have been revised and extended.
- Data from 1999 and 2000 have been added to the data collection. In addition, other data from 1992 onwards have been added to the files that were available last time.
