The following images were prepared by Robert L. Molinari and John F. Festa of AOML in support of the WOCE South Atlantic Workshop

These show the data availability on a 2 degrees of latitude by 2 degrees of longitude grid as months with data within five year bins (i.e. a maximum of 60 months). Grid points with data are marked by dots. A machine software package was used to contour the data distribution, thus contours appear in regions with no data. The contour interval is uneven; 5 data points, 10 data points, 20 data points, 30 data points, etc. Regions with greater than 20 data points are shaded.
