Barry Schwartz wrote a program that generates Fortran code for reading a netCDF file. It opens a specified netCDF file and generates the necessary Fortran code to declare the corresponding Fortran dimensions and variables and reads all the data into Fortran variables. To see a copy of the program click on the link below.

Fortran Code to read NetCDF

Nathan Bindoff gives an introduction on how to read and understand NetCDF files. He wrote sample codes for Matlab, IDL, and FORTRAN, which can be modified to read any version "woce" NetCDF file in our ship and buoy archive. Links to other useful sites about NetCDF files are included in the NetCDF Primer.
