Rosanna Sumagaysay-Aouda, Victor Zlotnicki, and Kelley Case (all of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)), designed this folder and created all its data files, browse images, and much of its documentation.

Prof. Robert Evans and collaborators at the University of Miami derived the algorithms and coefficients that converted the AVHRR observations to the Pathfinder version 4.0, 4.1, interim 4.1 AVHRR Sea Surface Temperature. Jorge Vazquez, and Rosanna Sumagaysay, Ed Armstrong, and Kelly Perry (all of JPL) created the files used as input to the grids included here, and wrote the EOSDIS Guide. Ed Armstrong provided the gaussian interpolation code and input grids.

Jake Hamby (then at California Polytechnic University at Pomona, and JPL) wrote the Java code to animate the browse images, based on an idea from Kai Jancke (Bundesamt fur Seeschiffahrt und Hydrographie, Hamburg, Germany). Robert Morris (JPL) made additional enhancements to the JAVA code.

This DVD-ROM folder was funded by EOSDIS, the Data and Information System of NASA's Earth Observing System. The work was performed at the EOSDIS PO-DAAC, the Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Donald Collins, manages the PO-DAAC.
